Hi Tally, so i have started cutting again and i really want to stop but every time i stop i feel the need to start again. How can i stop for good. I really need your advice. xx
Well firstly, making changes takes time, its normal to relapse and you shouldnt get too worked up about it because it happens a lot when youre trying to stop something, you just need to learn from each time, that relapsing wont help you, it hasnt made you feel better because youre asking for help.
everyone is different, and diffferent techniques will work for some and not others, so just try them out and see how you get along with it, dont give up because something hasnt worked :)
you need to distract yourself, when you get the urge to cut, occupy your mind with something else, call up your best friend„ go downstairs and socialise with your family, put the tv on, listen to music and dance around, do some baking, pick up a book and read a chapter, write down your feelings on a piece of paper, listen to your favourite song (preferably one that makes you happy not sad). google pictures of fluffy baby animals, go cuddle your pet (if you have one), drink a glass of water, make a cup of tea, tidy your room, sort out your wardrobe, play with your hair, take a bath or shower, paint your nails, go for a walk etc :)
also, try find a yoga video on youtube and try it out, hopefully it will calm you down :) xxxx
