Anonymous: Hi there. I know you've been through anorexia, and I need help from someone who has been there as I feel like I'm heading the same way. I am 5'10 and 110lbs. I don't completely starve myself but each week I cut down what I eat, and increase the amount of exercise I do at the gym. I now eat breakfast, and dinner, and I do 7 hours per week at the gym plus other sports. My mother and friends are school are starting to notice how I don't eat much, and I just need advice. I don't know what to do.

you are tiny tiny tiny!! normall i say dont go by stats as BMI can be very wrong as it doesnt take into account muscle mass and bone density etc. but you weigh less than me and you are ATLEAST 5 inches taller.at 5’10 you have so many fabulous opperunities, its a stunning height (i wish i was taller) and i bet you stand out in such a beautiful way. 

i completely understand where youre coming from, it starts out slow but then it gets worse right? well it sounds like you have good family and friends who are concerned about you and care about your wellbeing, the fact they are pointing this out means you probably are looking a little underweight. I think there are ways you can feel better about yourself without starving yourself.

The fact you exercise is good, not because of losing weight, but because it creates a healthy body and mind. However, cutting down on food probably isnt good, especially when you are already such a low weight. I think what you need to do is start eating more, but eat healthier foods, so you dont feel so sluggish and bloated. For example, eat brown bread and whole grain pasta etc, they are very important when you do so much exercise and it provides slow releasing energy, also try eating a banana before you exercise or as a snack during :) 

Then for general meals, i dont know what you like, but try having grilled chicken and vegetables and if you like it, eat lots of fish, theyre great to keep your brain going and it is very healthy and will leave you feeling great. Try snacking on whole grain cereal bars etc between meals so youre not left feeling too hungry, when you do a lot of exercise you have a fast metabolism and it needs feeding so it doesnt slow down, which is another reason why someone of your activeness shouldnt cut down on food.

I hope that helps a little, i dont know why you are cutting down, whether you feel too big, or want control, i dont know, but its soso important you lead a healthy lifestyle so you can live a long and fulfilling life :)
